Moving from Google Forms

Collecting testimonials or feedback with a Google Form? Bring the responses across as a CSV. They arrive as pending for review.

1. Export from Google Forms

Open the form's Responses tab and export to Google Sheets, then download the sheet as CSV — or use the responses sheet you already have. The first column is Google's Timestamp; the rest are your own questions, in your own wording.

2. Import here

Go to Collection → Imports → New import and upload the file. A Google Forms export has no fixed layout — the columns are whatever you asked — so the one thing we can always place is the Timestamp. Map your testimonial-text column yourself, plus name, rating and email if you collected them. The preview then shows sample rows exactly as they will be imported; check that the "text" column is the testimonial, and confirm.

Ratings in words

Google Forms often stores a rating as a word or a number-and-word, like 5 - Excellent or Excellent. We read those as a 1–5 rating. Anything we cannot read is left blank rather than guessed.

Dates

The Timestamp column, including its time, is kept as each item's date, in your team's timezone.

Re-uploading is safe

Import the same responses twice and the rows that already imported are skipped, not duplicated. Google Forms rows have no stable id, so we match on the testimonial text plus the respondent's email and name.

It still lands in the queue

An import never publishes in bulk. Everything arrives pending, and you approve what you want to show.
